Nis Investment Forum - NIF09, with the significant support of the City of Nis, organizes this year also a Conference, which will take place on 9 October 2009, to be implemented under the working title of "Preparing the future - Today's Challenge for Tomorrow's Profit", devoted to the investment possibilities in South Serbia (areas of the Districts of Nisava, Pirot and Toplica).

 

This year, the main themes of NIF09 shall be Transport and Tourism, which will be reviewed through public debates, presentations and round tables.  Among participants in the conference will be representatives of the Serbian Government, regional and local authorities, as well as representatives of international financial and business organizations and institutions. 

 

In addition, NIF09 will have the activities of organizing meetings and presentations for invited investors from the country and abroad, which is also the opportunity to get acquainted with business opportunities and infrastructure projects in the area of these three districts (Nisava, Pirot and Toplica districts). For the purposes of these activities will be provided specially designed space – Meeting Zone

 

Its participation to NIF09 has bee confirmed by the French Ambassador in Serbia, HE Jean-François Terral, Ambassador of Bulgaria in Serbia, HE Georgi Dimitrov, Ambassador of Austria in Serbia, HE Clemens Koja Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Ms Hildegard Gacek. In announcement are also Minister of Infrastructure, Mr Milutin Mrkonjic, Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mr Mladjan Dinkic, representatives of other foreign diplomatic and economic offices. NIF09 concept:

 

  • Planned number of participants: 150-200 participants
  • Active participation and support of international financial organizations present at NIF09
  • Active participation and participation of 10 local authorities from southeastern Serbia
  • Conducting of 3 interactive events at NIF09
  • Following and media support of local (at least 4), regional (at least 2) and national (at least 2) media during NIF09.
  • Support and active participation of the Government of Serbia (Ministry for Infrastructure and Ministry for Economy and Regional Development)
  • Support and active participation of at least two Serbian Government agencies
  • Support and active participation of at least four diplomatic missions present in Serbia
  • Support and active participation of at least 3 foreign chambers of commerce.
